”6 miles from the border”
in the frame of ”Meitheal / Wspólnie” – The Glens Centre, Manorhamilton, Ireland, 1998
This installation was set up in an old, stone-clad building on the border of Northern Ireland with the southern Republic. A white screen (artificial wall from plasterboard) was painted onto one of the walls. Two lengths of medical piping were suspended from above the wall from which blood dripped onto the floor. This was supposed to represent my attitude towards the political situation between these two countries, which I was not fully able to comprehend. I wanted to convey a sense of powerlessness within this old building.
