We wrześniu 2025 roku w Republice Litewskiej w miejscowości Šiauliai (Szawle) odbyło się otwarcie wystawy w ramach międzynarodowego laboratorium-sympozjum pod nazwą „What connects Sosnovsky’s borscht, raccoon and artificial intelligence?”. „Beautiful invaders” został tam pokazany jako instalacja wielomedialna i transmedialna w Šiauliai County Povilas Višinskis Public Library Gallery. Moja część projektu odnosiła się do tematu, który eksploruję w zakresie artystycznych badań w oparciu o systematykę zbierania danych i ich wizualizacji za pomocą sztuki. Jej złożoność polegała na etapowym podejściu do tematu pracy z AI oraz jej zmaterializowania. Prace łączą elementy technik tradycyjnych z mediami cyfrowymi, tworząc wielowarstwową narrację o wzajemnych relacjach między światem natury a technologią. Tym, co spaja oba analizowane zjawiska – inwazyjność roślin oraz AI – jest człowiek: zarówno jako sprawca, obserwator, jak i ofiara tych procesów. Projekt ma charakter refleksyjny i krytyczny, wskazując na potrzebę poszukiwania równowagi między rozwojem technologicznym, a odpowiedzialnością za środowisko naturalne i kulturowe. Balaclavy z nadrukiem wykonanym przez mnie przedstawiają kwiaty Barszczu Sosnowskiego oraz w drugiej wersji jego graficzną reprezentacją w systemie ASCII (jeden z aspektów rozpoznawania obrazu przez AI). To obiekty sprzężone z dźwiękiem uruchamianym za pomocą czujnika ruchu. Ruch powoduje, że maszyna losowo wybiera słowa, czy sentencje odzwierciedlające zapis rzeczywistości jako kod. Balaclavy skrywają tajemnicę. Ich losowe sentencje opisują tekstowo rzeczywistość, na podstawie której każdy może wyobrazić sobie włąsny obraz.

In September 2025, in the Republic of Lithuania, in the city of Šiauliai, the opening of an exhibition took place as part of the international laboratory-symposium “What connects Sosnovsky’s borscht, raccoon and artificial intelligence?” ”Beautiful Invaders” was presented there as a transmedia installation at the Šiauliai County Povilas Višinskis Public Library Gallery.
My contribution to the project addressed a theme I explore within the field of artistic research, based on the systematics of data collection and its visualization through art. Its complexity lay in a phased approach to working with AI and giving it material form. The works combine elements of traditional techniques with digital media, creating a multilayered narrative about the relationships between the natural world and technology. What connects the two phenomena under examination – the invasiveness of plants and artificial intelligence – is the human being: both as the initiator, the observer, and the victim of these processes. The project is reflective and critical in nature, pointing to the need to seek a balance between technological development and responsibility for the natural and cultural environment. The balaclavas I designed feature printed images of Heracleum sosnowskyi: one version presents its flowers, another a graphic representation of the plant in ASCII (an aspect of how AI interprets images). These objects are linked to sound, activated by a motion sensor. Movement causes the machine to select words or sentences at random, reflecting the encoded record of reality. The balaclavas conceal a secret. Their random sentences render reality into text, inviting each viewer to imagine their own image.
