”Package” and ”Skajscape”
cycle, exhibitions:

– “EGO”, Poznanski’s Palace, 2005, Łódź, Poland
Why has packaging become my inspiration? Packaging itself, when unfolded and devoid of its function, on the one hand becomes interesting, even architectural. On the other hand, however, it is hollow and defenseless – with no potential to communicate its function through form. Leaving some fragments intact, I document and select. By combining and putting together these banal unfolded pieces of packaging, I create simple and concurrently captivating forms, whose associations and relations begin to carry different values. I mean painting or sculpting values, or even architectural ones. Approaching these forms through painting, drawing, or installation, I present them in my own reality that is not an “embodiment” of reason. I give them different meanings and connotations. Thus I discover beauty in something different than the original and intended function of these forms.
