”Sleepless”

exposition ”Quinconce” La Maison de la Läicite, La Louviere, Belgium, 2003 / on the walls were presented the graphics of Pol Authom

This artificial room was created in a temporary place – in the waiting room. A small LCD monitor placed in the pillow showed a woman trying to fall asleep. However, as in the real situation, this was not possible due to the conditions – noise from outside. The work raised the problem of our simple, everyday needs, which the implementation is becoming increasingly difficult – in other words, it is about the human condition as a species.

An artificial room (half transparent) was constructed in the hall. Inside this room was the pillow with the LCD video monitor. The viewer looking into the pillow could see the video.
