”Invaders”

in the frame of international Water Tower Art Festival, Sofia, Bulgaria, 2011;
The “Invaders” project got out of the video frame and it now finds its place in works of a site-specific nature. The implementation of the project was take place in a water tower in the capital of Bulgaria – in Sofia. 1000 black balloons was climb on the top of the tower. The invasion of the balloons drew the attention of the society to the relations we have with nature and became a warning sign. The invaders in the title (in this case symbolised by black balloons) are us — the proud citizens of the planet. Black balloons are also dark thoughts, negative associations which are, unfortunately, the best media product. Nothing sells better than misery or tragedy.
In case of Sofia project, fortunately, black balloons deflated and everything was go back to ”normal”…
